STUDIO’S HISTORY -
founded in 1984, offers each student the opportunity to study & advance in the disciplines ofClassical Ballet & Pointe, Tap, Modern & Lyrical Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip Hop & House, Turns & Technique & offers
Performance Opportunities for all ages & levels. This starts from the child's first encounter with music & movement to their
emergence as a Professional Dancer. We also offer specialty classes designed to enhance a Dancers technique & expand
their abilities in the world of Dance. Director, Julie White-Downey is a Graduate of Cal Poly University in Recreation Administration
with an emphasis in "Dance Arts", with extensive experience as a Professional Dancer/Choreographer Teacher.
We are a training school & are proud of our students: *Our "Goal" is to provide a source of technical & artistic training in Dance
& to build self confidence & a positive self esteem"
DANCE TECHNIQUE:
The foundation of all dance necessary for the linear & technical development of the dancer.The art of finding control & mastery of expressive movement as it relates to dance development. Emphasis on placement,
technique & strength. Utilizes basic musical counts & varied rhythm patterns. All dancers will benefit in the study of centering,
gravity, balance, posture, coordination, gesture, rhythm and imagery.
ENROLLMENT:
We are a Performing Arts Studio! We pride our selves as a Leading Dance Studioon the Central Coast, with smaller classes designed for the student who wants to excels in Dance & Performing Arts. Classes with
only 2-3 students are considered semi-private & may be limited to 30 minutes in length, at the teachers discretion. A “Annual Registration
& Studio Insurance Fee” of $20.00 per student or $30.00 per family is due each year or upon registration of each new student/family.
The studio provides 2 optional performing opportunities for our dancers each season. December is our Jazzy Nutcracker—The Cracked Nut
—for selected & auditioned students only. June is our studio recital showcase that all students participate in. Students rent or pay
for their own costumes/shoes and personal dance items for all performance and a show fee is required. We have a Professional Dancers
Dress Codes for different classes, please refer to the web site for information or contact the studio.
TUITION:
Full Tuition is due the 1st class of every month regardless of missed classes. This reserves your place in class.A $10.00 late fee will be added after the 2nd class of each month. Students will not be allowed to attend future classes until
full payment is received and outstanding accounts are current.
MAKE UPS:
Missed classes due to injury, illness or holiday, can be made up at either dance studio, by attending another qualifying class,inviting a friend to your class or by a family member. Makeup's must be used within 4 weeks of absence at either Dance Studio or they are void.
Make-ups have no cash value & can not be used to credit your tuition. We follow the Unified School District vacation schedule &
are closed accordingly for all major holidays. Full monthly tuition is required September through June. Summer is the only time dancers may
pay for single classes and or prearranged weekend classes. A $20.00 fee applies for all returned checks.

Each student may decline to participate in any activity. Please inform instructors of any personal limitation. If you have any doubt to your
physical abilities, please consult with your physician before participating. Central Coast Dance will not dispense medications.
All students/parents, must sign a student information and release form before their 1st class at either studio.
STUDENT PROGRESS: Teachers are always happy to discuss a student's progress with parents.

STUDIO DRESS CODE:
Dancers are expected to attend class in appropriate "Dance Dress Code".
*NO* - street cloths allowed in Class!
A Professional Appearance is essential to a Dancer’s total self-image & a disciplined class!
*Do not* wear your dance shoes outside of the studio or in the parking lot.
We don’t want grease/oil on dance floor. Bring your dance bag and change your shoes before class!
*No* - bandana’s, hats or jewelry allowed in class*
*Girls Hair— pulled away from your face pony tail or bun*

Black Tank Top Leotard, Tights & Appropriate Dance Pants
Dance top, T-shirt (no street cloths or mid-drifts showing)
(Shinny Black Lycra Jazz pants are recommended & used in most studio performances)
HIP HOP & BOYS CLASSES
Appropriate Dance Clothing & Jazz Sneakers are Preferred
For Boys Classes—Dance Clothing, Sweats or Street Cloths that you can move in!
Sneakers must be clean and free from sand or dirt for use on
the dance floor! Bring a separate pair of shoes & change before class!
SHOES -
Dancers must have correct dance shoes for the type of class/classes they are taking!

The following are terms and conditions of participation with Central Coast Dance Studio’s
1. Tuition will be paid the 1st class of the month. A late fee of $10.00 will be added to the 2nd class.
Students will not be allowed to attend future classes until accounts are paid in full and current.
2. Tuition is based on monthly attendance. If a dancer is absent due to injury or illness, makeup's are allowed to be used
with 30 days. A $20.00 fee applies for all returned checks—No Tuition Transfers, Credits or Refunds.
3. Dancers will participate in 2 yearly Studio Productions . (December and June)
4. Appropriate class levels will be evaluated by the Teacher & Director, not by the Parent or Student.
A student may move up a class level when a class change form is fill out & signed by all teachers involved.
5. I give Central Coast Dance permission to allow any Pictures or Videos taken during any activity at or
through the studio to be used in the News paper or on a TV broadcast.
6. Dancers will follow Studio Dress Code. (see dress code sheets or refer to web site: centralcoastdance.com)

or my dependents in any activity sponsored by Central Coast Dance Studio. I will make no claim whatsoever for injuries against
Central Coast Dance, its Owners, Employees, or Landlord by reason of my said participation, or the participation of my dependent;
including the physically grounds, structures and facilities and/or any transportation utilized in connection with any Studio activity. I
further represent that I am physically able, or that my dependent is physically able, to participate in the said activity.
If I have any questions concerning the activity, I will seek medical approval.
